XXI Central American and Caribbean Congress of Internal Medicine

From May 11th–15th, 2011 the XXI Central American and Caribbean Congress of Internal Medicine took place at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Organised by the Dominican Republic Society of Internal Medicine. Dr. Rodolfo Bado was invited as ISIM representative and speaker.
The Central American and Caribbean Association of Internal Medicine gather eight countries form the caribbean area: Belice, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Nicaragua. beeing the last three societies members of the ISIM.
The meeting gathered almost 800 participants coming from the capital, small towns and rural areas as well as from abroad; the faculty were speakers from Argentina, México, Panama, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Perú.
The scientific programm covered internal medicine topics, mainly non transmissible diseases, and was enthusiastically followed by the assistants.
