Formation

The EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF INTERNAL MEDICINE was established in Basel on December 17, 1993. The registered office of the foundation is in Basel. It is entered in the Register of Commerce in the Canton of Basel-City. The founder is the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF INTERNAL MEDICINE (INTERNATIONALE GESELLSCHAFT FÜR INNERE MEDIZIN), an association in accordance with the Civil Code (ZGB) 52ff with headquarters in Basel. The official body responsible for supervising the foundation is the Foundation Supervisory Authority of the Federal Department of Home Affairs in Bern.

Purpose

The purpose of the foundation is essentially to support young physicians of both genders in countries in which the scientific standards of internal medicine have(s) not yet reached the level which is normal in (the) industrialized nations.
