17th International Congress & Scientific Seminar, Dhaka, Bangladesh

The 17th International Congress & Scientific Seminar was held from December 16-18, 2016, in Dhaka, at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel and Congress Center. The congress activities started on December 16, at the national “Victory Day”, celebrating the end of an armed conflict known as the Bangladesh Liberation War. The conflict gave birth to Bangladesh in 1971. It is also a day to honor all of those who died in the war.

This outstanding international congress covered a wide spectrum of internal medicine topics, including reviews, state to art lectures, updates on clinical guidelines and very interesting and highly appreciated clinical case presentations. The scientific program was of a very high quality for the benefit of all participants. The Congress was a highlight to anyone who has an interest in the broad field of General Internal Medicine and in specialized Internal Medicine. The International Society of Internal Medicine (ISIM) was represented by its President-Elect, Dr. Adri Kok from South Africa and by Dr. Hans-Peter Kohler, Secretary General. Both ISIM representatives gave lectures and contributed to the discussion of “clinical cases”.
