Promotion of the Upcoming World Congress of Internal Medicine

During the SMIBA 2025 Congress, ISIM actively promoted the upcoming World Congress of Internal Medicine, generating great enthusiasm and expectation among participants and institutional representatives.


Institutional Interactions and Complementary Participation

During the congress, ISIM achieved notable institutional engagement in multiple academic and collaborative activities:

  • Interaction with SOLAT (Latin American Society of Atherosclerosis) during the joint symposium, strengthening scientific links and cooperation in cardiovascular prevention.
  • Participation in the Rioplatense Conference Session, which brought together specialists from Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile.
  • Participation in the preparatory session for the upcoming “Book of Clinical Algorithms in Internal Medicine,” a continental project involving multiple Latin American authors who will contribute practical decision-making algorithms for internal medicine practice.

Participation in the Transandino Awards Ceremony – “Dr. Carlos Reussi Award”

ISIM representatives also attended the Tranandino Awards Ceremony – “Dr. Carlos Reussi Award”, a symbolic academic event established in 1978 that celebrates Latin American unity, professional excellence, and scientific collaboration, even during times of political tension.
This ceremony underscores the role of internal medicine as a bridge for understanding, peace, and knowledge exchange in the region.

Conclusions

ISIM’s (International Society of Internal Medicine) participation in the III International Congress of SMIBA 2025 successfully consolidated its role as a regional academic leader and strengthened scientific cooperation among Latin American internal medicine societies.
The ISIM symposium, along with contributions to editorial projects and participation in emblematic events such as the Transandino Awards Ceremony, reflect the Society’s commitment to continuous medical education, professional excellence, and the unity of internists across the Americas.
