I am happy to report that the advanced courses were successfully held on 6^th August in Nairobi, Kenya and on 10^th August in Accra Ghana.  We were able to have a good composition of speakers from ISIM, FCPSA, and from the Kenyan Association of Physicians. Dr Erick Ngenja coordinated the meeting in Kenya, with excellent  support from his team. Each course was followed by a dinner where the visiting faculty could socialize with the local KOL’s.  This dinner sessions turned out to be very valuable with new networks developed for future meetings and collaboration.  The Taipei WCIM was also marketed during the meetings.

 

The meeting in Kenya took place in the Serena Hotel, and was attended by about 100 attendees.

 

Thereafter the delegation of speakers flew out to Accra, Ghana to have the similar course in Ghana.  The meeting was held in the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.  It was a Hybrid meeting with about 50 delegates attended in person, and another 100 online.  The discussions were lively and Dr Kenneth Tachi coordinated the meeting in Ghana. The after-meeting dinner was also very productive with networking and new connections established.

 

The hospitality and professional interaction in both countries were worth mentioning and this project also enabled the attending ISIM executive members to learn to each other also much better.

The colleagues in both countries were sincerely appreciative of the courses and expressed the desire to have more such inter African meetings in the future.  All in all, this project can be regarded as another successful project by ISIM.
